Building Without Planning Consent

The government has announced that, from October 2008, certain permitted developments can proceed without planning permission.  There are limiting terms of reference, and local authorities can apply their own criteria, and we have yet to understand what L.B.Bromley's criteria will be.

However, the covenants governing the estate require that all alterations or additions are the subject of a licence.

We rely on the publication of planning notices to initiate our consultations etc. and the absence of such notices may result in us being unaware of certain smaller developments.

The purpose of this alert is to remind any residents who are contemplating permitted developments, that they should still apply for a licence.
